Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and Compliance:
- Promote safety through knowledge of building practices and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Ensure that all fire safety equipment is always maintained in proper working condition.
- Develop, update, and disseminate fire orders and operational plans.
- Training and Awareness:
- Conduct regular training sessions for building occupants on the use of firefighting equipment and fire emergency evacuation procedures.
- Organize fire drills, refresher training, and first aid sessions for employees.
- Provide toolbox talks and onboarding safety training for new suppliers.
- Liaison and Coordination:
- Maintain effective communication with the city fire brigade.
- Coordinate with vendors for preventive maintenance (PM) of firefighting, fire alarm, and detection systems (e.g., extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, detectors, talk-back systems, PA systems).
- Inspection and Risk Management:
- Perform risk assessments and building inspections to ensure compliance with fire and safety standards.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by vendors and issue work permits as needed.
- Identify and assess potential hazards, especially in critical areas, and implement corrective measures.
- Emergency Preparedness and Incident Management:
- Develop and maintain the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan.
- Induct and train Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.
- Lead accident/incident investigations and compile monthly HSE statistics.
- EHS and Policy Implementation:
- Conduct internal EHS and fire safety training for employees.
- Develop, implement, and monitor corporate occupational health and safety policies, programs, and procedures.
- Prepare all necessary documentation for EHS audits and safety surveys.
- Energy and Business Continuity Management:
- Implement energy-saving initiatives to enhance sustainability.
- Oversee the business continuity plan and ensure periodic inspections.
- Employee Support:
- Address employee safety concerns promptly.
- Conduct hazard identification exercises, audits, and job safety analyses to foster a safe workplace environment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, or a 3-year full-time Diploma.
- Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) from RLI, CLI, or State Board of Technical Education.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH, or equivalent certification is desirable.
Experience Requirements:
- At least 10+ years of experience in safety and quality practices within real estate or construction projects.
