We’re searching for a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join Company dynamic team at our Walker, Michigan plant. Reporting directly to the EHS Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving safety initiatives, fostering a strong safety culture, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Champion Safety Culture: Foster and promote a robust safety culture across the plant.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to company EHS policies, OSHA and state-run OSHA programs, EPA, DEQ regulations, and customer-specific EHS standards.
- Lead and Collaborate: Head the plant’s Safety Committee and work closely with operators, team leads, and management to achieve EHS goals.
- EHS Program Management: Develop, implement, and drive EHS programs and initiatives tailored to the plant’s needs.
- Hazard Mitigation: Proactively identify and address hazards through collaboration and education.
- Environmental Permits: Manage environmental permits and prepare required reports, including TIER II submissions.
- Incident Management: Investigate and manage incidents and near misses with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention.
- Team Contribution: Actively participate as a key member of the larger EHS team spanning 12 plants, contributing to the development of innovative programs and solutions.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of EHS experience; automotive or heavy manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification, GSP, ACSP, CSP, or similar certifications are a strong plus.
- Skills:
