Responsibilities
As a Safety and Health Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring workplace safety and compliance. Your key responsibilities include:
- Investigating industrial accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Leading or coordinating worker training sessions on safety laws, hazardous condition monitoring, and proper use of safety equipment.
- Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data related to workplace accidents and illnesses to drive safety improvements.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Safety and Health Manager.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years in a managerial position.
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar safety role.
- Skills:
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly in facilities processing beef or other food products.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Work Commitment:
- Willingness to work at least 50+ hours per week.
- Flexibility to work any shift as required.
- Highly effective communicator at all organizational levels.
