Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular safety inspections, training, and ensure compliance with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Provide accurate safety statistical data and analysis to the plant leadership team and effectively communicate results to the site workforce.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to ensure adherence to Tyson Foods’ safety standards and practices.
- Facilitate and conduct training sessions on key safety topics, including ergonomics, emergency response, lockout/tagout, and hazard communication.
- Identify potential workplace hazards and recommend safe work practices to leadership teams.
- Offer expertise on hazard identification and risk mitigation strategies.
- Advise and guide on compliance with city, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Evaluate hazardous workplace conditions and practices, proposing actionable solutions.
- Conduct and coordinate on-site safety audits to assess physical conditions and adherence to safe work practices.
- Implement controls based on hazard analysis results and measure their effectiveness.
- Assess and recommend updates to safety policies and procedures to address hazardous conditions.
- Deliver specialized safety training to communicate hazard control methods.
- Assist with new employee safety and environmental orientations.
- Perform additional duties related to safety as required to support the overall mission of the role.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Safety or a related engineering discipline required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of safety experience preferred. Familiarity with state or local environmental laws and reporting requirements is highly desirable.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Strong analytical and data management skills to monitor and interpret safety performance indicators.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and concepts effectively to a diverse audience ranging from front-line employees to plant leadership.
- Residency: Must reside in the United States. This role does not offer sponsorship.
