This Safety Specialist position at Cupertino Electric, Inc. in Kuna, ID plays a critical role in advancing an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC) across project sites. The role supports project teams through compliance enforcement, training, and the development of project-specific safety plans.

Role Overview

Key responsibilities include maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, assisting with incident investigations, and supporting project leadership in managing safety performance. The position also contributes to the development of the Project Safety Roadmap and provides on-site technical safety guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the project team in promoting an IIFC-focused safety environment across job sites
  • Assist with the creation and ongoing management of the Project Safety Roadmap
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, local, and company safety regulations
  • Provide technical safety assistance to the General Foreman, Project Leadership, and site personnel
  • Support incident and injury case management, including investigation and documentation
  • Participate in the facilitation of safety trainings, meetings, and compliance inspections

Work Environment

  • Responsibilities performed in both office and active construction site environments
  • Exposure to varied environmental conditions including work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoor job sites
  • Occasional physical activities such as lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing, and walking extended distances

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or Environmental Health & Safety
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification required
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (trainer status preferred)
  • 1–3 years of construction safety experience; electrical safety experience preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and a clean driving record

Skills & Knowledge

  • Understanding of construction safety principles and field-level hazard identification
  • Ability to interpret and apply company safety policies and federal regulations
  • Effective communicator with leadership presence and problem-solving ability
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a site project team
