A leading construction firm is seeking a Safety Professional III to drive a proactive, on-site safety culture in Atlanta, GA. This role plays a critical part in guiding safety initiatives, supporting contractor compliance, and ensuring all field activities align with regulatory and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a safety-first mindset through daily site interactions and strategic planning
- Review contractor scopes, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety task assignments (STAs) to ensure safety is embedded from the start
- Monitor contractor adherence to required safety documentation and standards
- Conduct regular safety audits using SafetyNet, with a monthly goal of 15 inspections and a minimum of 100 observations per inspection
- Provide timely safety training on OSHA, client-specific, and internal safety requirements
- Lead investigations into any incidents or near misses and manage reporting responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date records on all safety activities and compliance documentation
- Offer guidance and support to project teams by ensuring access to proper safety equipment and resources
- Serve as the primary contact for insurance carriers regarding project-related safety matters
- Mentor junior safety personnel, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing
- Encourage a respectful, inclusive work environment that prioritizes safety at all levels
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in construction safety management
- BCSP (Board of Certified Safety Professionals) credential or a comparable combination of education and experience
Key Skills & Competencies
- Solid understanding of construction safety procedures and best practices
- Hands-on familiarity with OSHA laws, regulations, and standards
- Ability to recognize and assess workplace hazards and implement corrective measures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital safety platforms
- Excellent written and spoken communication abilities
- Confident interpersonal skills and the ability to work across teams
