ExxonMobil is seeking a qualified candidate for a Safety Coordinator Job in the USA to support key safety and health programs across field operations. This position is suited for experienced safety professionals ready to lead investigations, influence team behavior, and support emergency response coordination in Midland, Texas.
️ Key Responsibilities – Safety Coordinator Role
- Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external contractors to promote a culture of safety.
- Provide leadership and behavioral coaching with a focus on Personnel Safety Management Systems (PSMS).
- Conduct advanced-level incident investigations and identify root causes of high-potential incidents.
- Communicate key findings to senior leadership to drive continuous improvement.
- Independently manage complex Safety & Health projects or work as part of a cross-functional team.
- Participate actively in the Buddy Manager program to enhance contractor management effectiveness.
- Contribute to contractor interface discussions and collaboration as needed.
- Develop safety meeting content, lead sessions, and drive team engagement.
- Collaborate with Operations to ensure Emergency Response Plans are current and effective.
- Support the coordination and execution of emergency response drills within assigned areas.
- Flexibility to work alternative schedules and weekends as required.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet for documentation and safety tracking.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in field-based Safety & Health roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of:
- Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS)
- Personnel Safety Management System (PSMS)
- Work Management System (WMS)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate field teams.
- Experience with safety software tools including Smartsheet.
