Educational Qualifications:
- BE/B.Tech/Diploma in any stream
- Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory)
Minimum Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Desired Skills:
- Proficient in Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA)
- Expertise in incident investigation procedures
- Familiarity with safety standards and procedures of UTCL
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) & Supporting Actions
KRA 1: Self-Demonstrated Commitment
- Conduct safety observation rounds and CFSA at the workplace.
- Regularly report near misses, OPLs, and Kaizens.
- Identify and report hazards (OFIs) and ensure compliance with corrective actions.
KRA 2: Safety Sustainability in Respective Areas
- Maintain an LTIFR of 0; ensure zero fatalities in all operational areas.
- Investigate and analyze accidents to develop standardized safety procedures.
- Review JCC and actively participate in sub-committee activities, FPSA, and SPSA audits, ensuring 100% compliance within stipulated timelines.
- Adhere to COVID-19 precautions and enforce safety guidelines on and off-site.
- Promote sustainability practices by safeguarding natural resources and replicating good environmental practices.
- Actively contribute to KFA & GRT meetings by proposing new technologies, innovations, and safety improvements.
KRA 3: Engagement in Review Meetings
- Assist in preparing DCM presentations for immediate superiors.
- Monitor compliance with action points from DCM, Fire Risk Audit, and RCN/BCN recommendations.
- Perform qualitative assessments of incident investigation reports.
- Participate in subcommittee and standard champion review meetings to enhance safety practices.
- Prepare and monitor compliance with MOM points in MPR, CSCM, and APEX meeting presentations.
KRA 4: Safety Promotion
- Conduct motivational safety programs to raise awareness among employees and contract workers. Activities include:
- Fire Service Day celebrations
- Campaigns on monthly themes
- Daily on-site training sessions using mobile vans
- Develop and implement best practices to eliminate fatality risks.
KRA 5: Performance and Talent Management
- Provide coaching and guidance to UTCL employees, safety stewards, and contractors through audio-visual tools or third-party training (cost-free).
- Introduce new initiatives to improve departmental processes.
