Key Responsibilities
- Promote a strong HSE culture by ensuring every team member understands their responsibilities under UK regulations and TotalEnergies safety protocols—especially team leads and contractors.
- Guide the organization through a seamless transition to TotalEnergies’ HSE management system and develop required analyses and documentation aligned with international standards.
- Oversee the continued certification of ISO standards including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001, along with any other industry-relevant certifications.
- Plan and coordinate both internal and external HSE audits, including the annual UK audit calendar.
- Lead the creation, maintenance, and refinement of all safety-related documentation, especially where gaps are identified against current regulations or TotalEnergies policies.
- Investigate incidents thoroughly, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Ensure findings are communicated clearly across the business to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and manage emergency preparedness plans and conduct scenario-based drills to maintain operational readiness.
- Champion the reporting and analysis of near misses to drive continuous improvement and awareness.
- Host monthly safety committee meetings and report on key HSEQ performance indicators.
- Act as the primary contact for organizing and delivering the TCSUK Safety Day.
- Monitor and manage allocated budgets efficiently, with an emphasis on cost control and value optimization.
- Represent the business in relevant industry forums to contribute to evolving safety best practices and introduce value-added measures into daily operations.
Contractor Oversight
- Support supplier evaluations in partnership with the procurement team to ensure high safety standards are maintained.
- Identify risks in contractor performance and initiate improvement plans.
- Conduct field visits and audits to confirm on-site adherence to HSE procedures.
- Provide detailed feedback on contractor HSE performance during formal business reviews.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a safety, environmental, or engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in safety roles with direct engagement with front-line workers.
- Certified with the NEBOSH General Certificate and holds Tech IOSH membership.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communicator with the ability to confidently present action plans and influence safety behavior across all levels.
