️ What You’ll Be Doing
As an HSE Specialist, you’ll be a core member of our QHSE team, working alongside six driven colleagues who care deeply about quality and compliance. Your mission? Ensure our operations meet or exceed all regulatory requirements while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk management.
- Provide expert HSE guidance to management, team members, and project groups.
- Lead and coordinate audits and risk assessments such as RI&E, HAZOPs, and workplace inspections.
- Conduct root cause analyses after incidents, near-misses, or compliance signals.
- Develop and manage our Integrated Management System (IMS), aligning with:
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
- ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
- ISO 50001 (Energy Management)
- Spot trends, gaps, and compliance risks — and turn insights into action through improvement plans.
- Advise on HSE policy integration into the VDL Business System (VBS), ensuring legal compliance and internal alignment.
- Drive safety-first practices by implementing effective, preventative measures backed by in-depth safety analyses.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO level).
- At least 5 years of hands-on HSE experience, ideally in a technical or automotive process environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards, and how to apply them in practice.
- Fluent in Dutch and a good command of English.
- Available for a minimum of 32 hours per week (preference for full-time, 40 hours).
