The HSE Specialist job in DNOW Midland-Odessa Area, USA focuses on upholding and enhancing workplace health, safety, and environmental standards across multiple branch locations. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor safety compliance across all branch locations in accordance with company and legal standards.
- Ensure all employees complete required HSE training and competency certifications specific to their roles.
- Conduct internal audits and share findings with the HSE Manager; coordinate corrective actions with branch leaders.
- Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to confirm safety measures are in place and clearly communicated.
- Facilitate safety training sessions such as Driver Safety, First Aid, H2S Awareness, and Forklift Operation.
- Ensure all branches are compliant with DOT regulations and standards.
- Initiate and manage safety improvement projects, updating HSE Manager and operations teams on progress.
- Lead investigations of incidents or near-misses, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend preventative actions.
- Ensure all team members are well-informed about environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Develop, update, and manage internal HSE training content and materials.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience (10+ years in the field).
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in safety or environmental roles preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of HSE regulations across federal, state, and local levels.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to influence a positive safety culture.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Confident in delivering presentations and facilitating group training sessions.
- Ability to build effective teams and inspire others toward safety excellence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Willingness to travel as needed for audits, training, and compliance assessments.
