Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Lead safety initiatives by guiding management and employees on OSHA standards, DOT compliance requirements, and company-specific policies and safety standards.
- Compliance Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of safety programs and systems to ensure alignment with organizational EH&S standards as well as federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Hazard Management: Assist in identifying and mitigating potential chemical, physical, and biological hazards in the workplace, ensuring a safe environment for all employees.
- Incident Investigation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and complaints related to hazardous or uncomfortable conditions.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend process, design, procedural, and equipment improvements to reduce hazardous risks and promote safety best practices.
- Training & Audits: Drive HSE excellence by conducting training sessions, auditing safety systems, performing rig inspections, and analyzing safety performance indicators.
- Regulatory Guidance: Provide expert guidance on safety regulations and assist in the development of procedures for a wide range of HSE challenges.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years in a senior-level health, safety, and environmental role with a proven track record in managing safety programs.
- Expertise: Extensive knowledge in various HSE disciplines and viewed as an expert in safety and environmental compliance.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex safety challenges and influence others to achieve safety goals.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Act as a technical mentor to other team members, offering specialized guidance and driving safety improvements across departments.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safety regulations and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of OSHA standards, DOT regulations, and safety management systems
- Experience with hazard assessments, risk management, and incident investigations
- Expertise in the development and execution of employee safety training programs
- Ability to lead cross-functional safety improvement projects
