Job Description
Job Purpose
To ensure compliance with safety requirements and to drive the organization’s commitment to promoting a robust safety culture at all project construction sites, aiming for “Zero Incidents, Zero Accidents” across all projects.
Key Accountabilities
- Increase stakeholder awareness of safety and environmental compliance through training, awareness sessions, and campaigns.
- Ensure all major changes undergo a comprehensive ‘Management of Change’ process through detailed safety assessments.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections for internal and external agencies in alignment with the GMR Safety Management System.
External Interactions
Heads of Departments (HODs) from internal departments of ALD and other group organizations.
Internal Interactions
Consultants, auditors, assessors, regulatory inspectors, and prospective business customers.
Financial Dimensions
- Current Annual Operating Plan (AOP): ₹1000 Crore INR.
- Construction projects valued at ₹1000 Crore, distributed across multiple projects.
Other Dimensions
Lead the Safety & Environment department for ALD.
Directly manage a team of 2–3 members and provide indirect oversight of approximately 2000 employees engaged at project sites, ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering.
- Postgraduate specialization in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) from a recognized institute.
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 17 years of industry experience, with 8–10 years in construction, real estate, or industrial projects.
