Position Summary
Amentum is hiring an HSE Specialist in Albany, Oregon to serve as a Chemical Inventory and SDS Manager (CISM) at the NETL site. This position involves maintaining chemical inventory records, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting research and safety programs through effective system implementation and regulatory compliance.
️ Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the NETL-Albany site’s chemical inventory and safety data sheet (SDS) system.
- Provide technical assistance related to chemical inventory concerns, SDS access, and chemical purchase approvals.
- Enter cylinder data and assign barcodes using the inventory system (EMS).
- Conduct annual inventory scans and inspections of laboratory areas to verify inventory accuracy.
- Support Oregon State Fire Marshal reporting and provide ad hoc regulatory reports.
- Review and approve chemical purchases and assist with research sample shipping/receiving procedures.
- Act as the primary point-of-contact for CISM support at NETL-Albany.
- Support organic peroxide shelf-life tracking efforts.
- Assist with annual cylinder inventory and participate in required routine inspections at the site.
- Support inspections for R&D, operations, and facility-specific SARS compliance.
- Assist with the hazardous and non-hazardous waste management program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related scientific field.
- 0–3 years of experience in a related HSE role, preferably involving chemical safety or inventory systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
