The HSE Officer Job in Trouw Nutrition | Friesland, Netherlands offers an exciting opportunity to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives within an international animal nutrition company. Based in Friesland, this position supports operational excellence by implementing new safety standards, driving compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement safety projects focused on advancing operational HSE standards across the facility.
- Continuously improve and maintain the integrated safety management system in line with local regulations and global practices.
- Provide expert guidance on safety topics, including ATEX compliance and Dutch health and safety legislation.
- Perform structured risk assessments such as HAZOP and ensure all safety procedures are updated and communicated effectively.
- Actively participate in the investigation of incidents and accidents, ensuring thorough follow-up and documentation.
- Coordinate emergency response (BHV), acting as an advisor and coach for first responders and employees across departments.
- Promote safety awareness through coaching, briefings, and continuous engagement with operational teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum HBO (Higher Professional Education) level, ideally with a completed HVK (Higher Safety Expert) or IVK (Intermediate Safety Expert) qualification.
- Hands-on experience working in the HSE field, preferably within a manufacturing, agricultural, or chemical environment.
- Knowledge of ATEX guidelines and their implementation in industrial environments is considered an advantage.
- Fluent in both Dutch and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Proactive, organized, and analytical mindset—able to handle complex challenges with structure and consistency.
