Health & Safety Officer – SME Manufacturing Business in Leicester

Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience

Inizio Engage is partnering with a growing SME manufacturing company based in Leicester to recruit a dedicated Health & Safety Officer. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and enhance the company’s health and safety practices. To qualify, candidates must hold a NEBOSH or IOSH certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development: Create, implement, and manage comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Incident Management: Lead accident and incident investigations, compile detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry health and safety standards and regulations, maintaining best practices.
  • Training Programs: Design and deliver engaging safety training sessions and workshops for employees.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary contact with regulatory bodies on health and safety matters.
  • Employee Wellbeing: Collaborate with the HR team to promote employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior management to champion a safety-first culture.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Mandatory: NEBOSH, IOSH, or an equivalent certification.
  • Industry Experience: Proven background in health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • Regulation Knowledge: Strong understanding of occupational health, COSHH, WEEE regulations, and DSEAR.
  • Key Skills:
    • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
    • Effective leadership and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Proficient in using standard PC software.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
