The company operates as a European development and construction services provider who specializes in delivering solutions for low-carbon and green hydrogen markets.
With their growing operations, they search to hire an HSE Manager who will manage all aspects of health safety environment and industrial risks for their UK operations.
The main responsibilities of your role as HSE manager consist of:
- The HSE policy requires implementation through utilization of Group and international standards together with international norms.
- Managers and employees must confirm policy and procedure application through verification of their proper implementation as it relates to quality, hygiene, safety and environmental standards.
- The position requires direct responsibility for reporting health and safety matters.
- Propose continuous improvement action,
- The site manager validates environmental safety tools together with safety procedures that exist onsite (on-site safety instructions, operating and maintenance procedures, emergency and safety procedures
- The HSE level monitoring of all projects from building to operational phases will be conducted.
- The professional leads or coordinates HSE audits across different sites before taking responsibility for subcontractor controls.
- A complete Risk Assessment Method Statement should be performed to evaluate site visit risks.
- The organization will perform risk assessment tasks while maintaining them for creating safe working conditions.
- The staff needs to share information about the ATEX regulations and operational issues involved with hydrogen transportation installations.
- Safety-related training needs assessment must take place.
- The professional joins the initial setup process of new installations for commissioning activities.
- Join efforts to find safety enhancement methods that benefit operation and maintenance activities.
- You must identify HSE events (KPIs) while formalizing both REX and root cause analysis procedures and suggesting improvement strategies.
- The HSE criteria must be supplied to industrial purchasing teams for their use in supplier selection while they participate in supplier evaluation processes when needed.
- Join the evaluation process of environmental risks as part of your responsibilities.
The primary objectives for the process safety and industrial risks manager include:
- The position serves as the primary resource which coordinates process and technical safety matters in multiple UK projects
- The engineering phase requires your participation in design reviews, safety reviews and risk analysis reviews through HAZID, HAZOP and SIL processes. Your leadership can be requested at any time.
- You will conduct technical safety assessment work for Pre-FEED’s at the internal project stage. Reports will be developed (among others) for the following purposes:
- Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
Reliability, Availability and Maintainability Study (RAMS) - HSE Management Plan
- HSE Design Philosophy
- Isolation Philosophy
- Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA’s)
- The team member needs to perform site assessment reporting to verify land quality from an HSE viewpoint for required cases.
- The team will manage all subcontractor process safety deliverables through review and approval processes.
- Review the effectiveness of established procedures that control fire and explosion risks from hydrogen usage.
- Projects require definition of security requirements along with relevant standards and the identification of necessary partners to handle security initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with local regulation,
- The company should maintain administrative authority relations by working with UK HSE and environmental authorities to obtain necessary permits.
- Conduct assessments of both local regulations and hydrogen installation safety following regulatory requirements.
- Regular monitoring of assessment and risk control methods from established similar plant facilities needs to occur.
- The company must follow CDM 2015 Regulations while simultaneously handling all safety aspects of construction operations.
- The team member should take part in equipment assessment sessions (FAT, SAT).
- The team should identify safety enhancing development topics either through internal R&D or collaboration with external partners for the prevention of leaks and rapid detection systems.
- The team conducts observation of security-related test campaigns.
- This team member engages in safety-oriented working groups at Hydrogen UK as well as other reference organizations.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience of at least 10 years in the field of industrial risks / Process Safety
- Degree qualified or a minimum of a NEBOSH Diploma (level 6)
