Your Role as a Senior HSE Advisor
As a Senior HSE Advisor, you will:
- Champion Safety Culture: Act as an ambassador for Spirit Energy’s Life Saving Rules, House Rules, and HSE Expectations. Promote a proactive and generative HSE culture through regular site visits and visible leadership.
- Deliver HSE Support: Provide operational assets with HSE training, lead accident/incident investigations, conduct system audits, and offer best-practice advice.
- Monitor and Improve Performance: Collaborate with the HSE Manager to track and report HSE performance, identify trends, and develop actionable improvement plans.
- Drive HSE Initiatives: Take ownership of delivering targeted HSE improvement plans and maintaining behavioral modification tools to strengthen safety culture.
- Emergency Preparedness: Support the maintenance and testing of emergency response plans, ensuring readiness and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Prepare for regulator interventions and contribute to implementing required actions to maintain compliance.
- Risk Assessment Expertise: Provide risk assessment guidance for large-scale projects, reviewing work packs to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
- Contract Management Oversight: Communicate company expectations to third parties, ensuring alignment and active engagement during contract execution.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate with substantial experience in HSE or an operational/technical discipline within the oil and gas sector. To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Certificate (minimum); Diploma preferred.
- Professional membership in a relevant institute (e.g., IOSH) or actively working toward it.
- Current BOSIET, MIST, and Offshore Medical certificates.
- Experience:
- Proven expertise across various operating and project phases.
- Strong background in risk management, compliance, and emergency response practices.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
