About the Role: Environmental Assistant

As an Environmental Assistant, you’ll provide vital support to the Environmental Compliance team, managing environmental programs and contributing to sustainability goals. This role offers a blend of administrative, technical, and compliance-related responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations across environmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management:
    • Assist in managing environmental databases like ENFOS, including data entry, monthly reviews, and checklist tracking.
    • Support environmental accounting processes, including invoice processing, purchase orders, and expense tracking.
  • Compliance Reporting:
    • Prepare annual Tier 2 hazardous materials reports.
    • Track pollution liability insurance programs and oil/water separator reporting activities.
  • Office Administration:
    • Handle daily office tasks such as scanning, faxing, uploading, and mailing documents.
    • Occasionally provide reception desk support.
  • Permit & Registration Tracking:
    • Monitor permits, registrations, tank testing, and cathodic protection system reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of administrative experience; travel center or environmental assistance experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in PC and intranet-based reporting systems.
  • Familiarity with SAP accounting software is advantageous (training provided if needed).
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
