Looking for a career-defining HSE opportunity in the solar energy sector? Zelestra is hiring an experienced HSE Coordinator for its site operations in Haryana, India. This role requires hands-on site experience and a deep understanding of construction or industrial project safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations to ensure full compliance with internal HSE policies and national safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, and perform site-specific risk assessments.
  • Lead investigations for incidents, near misses, and accidents — implementing timely corrective actions.
  • Facilitate daily toolbox talks, safety inductions, and worker briefings.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across work zones.
  • Review and maintain HSE documentation, including checklists, permits to work, and safety reports.
  • Coordinate mock emergency drills and ensure operational readiness of firefighting and first aid kits.
  • Collaborate with the site HSE team, supervisors, and contractors to mitigate unsafe behaviors or conditions.
  • Support both internal and external HSE audits.
  • Promote a culture of proactive HSE awareness and behavior-based safety.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional Diploma in Safety (NEBOSH/IOSH preferred).
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in an HSE role — preferably in solar or construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of local HSE laws and solar project safety standards.
  • Excellent reporting and hazard identification skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and safety documentation tools.
  • Ability to work outdoors under pressure with limited supervision.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with permit-to-work systems and protocols for hot work, confined space entry, and working at heights.
  • First Aid/CPR certification and Fire Warden training.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for managing subcontractors and multicultural teams.
  • Capacity to deliver safety training and awareness sessions on site.
