Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the site’s safety committee to drive consistent HSE excellence through communication and strong leadership.
- Conduct thorough incident investigations focused on root cause analysis, implementing corrective/preventive actions, and documenting lessons learned.
- Track HSE performance through lagging and leading indicators — provide data analytics and trends to improve safety strategies.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs on all environmental, health, and safety aspects for employees and new hires.
- Support department leaders in identifying and applying effective safety improvements that promote a positive safety culture.
- Serve as co-chair of the Health and Safety Committee — follow up on audit findings and ensure accountability for regulatory compliance.
- Execute monthly workplace inspections and recommend improvements based on measurable safety benchmarks.
- Develop and lead emergency evacuation procedures, including employee drills and awareness training.
- Ensure all environmental compliance reports (air, stormwater, and sewer discharge) are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Handle any additional duties as assigned related to safety operations and regulatory compliance.
Requirements & Skills
- 2–4 years of relevant HSE experience in a manufacturing or engineering setup.
- Hands-on exposure to compliance audits and safety documentation.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) and proficiency in Tamil is mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced computer literacy for report generation and documentation.
- Proven background in a factory setting with coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Recognized Engineering degree along with a Diploma/Master’s degree in Industrial Safety as per Tamil Nadu Government rules under the Safety Officers Act.
