Key Responsibilities
- Foster a safety-first culture built on ethical practices and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure consistent application of the organization’s HSE Program across all job sites in partnership with industrial leadership and the Senior HSE Director.
- Review, improve, and recommend updates to HSE Manuals, Policies, and Procedures as part of a continuous improvement model.
- Provide clear direction, leadership, and support to Regional Safety Coordinators to ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
- Collaborate with the Senior HSE Director to communicate with provincial and federal regulatory bodies effectively.
- Work alongside stakeholders to ensure HSE standards are communicated, implemented, and measured for effectiveness.
- Lead monthly reporting initiatives related to HSE statistics, including both leading and lagging indicators.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure the Health, Safety and Environmental Management System is functioning with integrity.
- Support timely and thorough incident investigations, ensuring findings and corrective actions are shared with senior stakeholders.
- Ensure all corrective actions within the HSE Management System are completed and properly closed out.
- Motivate Safety Coordinators to actively engage with and promote safety objectives on the ground.
- Support site leadership teams with guidance on HSE-related concerns and strategy.
- Take a lead role in serious incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and transparent communication.
- Provide insight during the recruitment process for on-site HSE roles, supporting professional development through mentoring and coaching.
- Assist in succession planning and future talent development by engaging in performance reviews and career planning with senior leaders.
