Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Health & Safety Specialist, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting jobsite audits to evaluate safe work practices and procedures.
  • Investigating incidents and providing recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Coordinating health and safety training for all employees.
  • Contributing to the development of safe work practices and procedures.
  • Promoting Black & McDonald’s Internal Responsibility System to strengthen safety culture.
  • Facilitating Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Ensuring compliance with government and client health and safety regulations.
  • Assisting with worker’s compensation claims management.
  • Traveling within the Pacific Northwest to support various projects and initiatives.
  • Performing additional duties as required to ensure a safe work environment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of safety and health experience in a relevant industry.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Proficient knowledge of OSHA standards and FMCSR regulations.
  • Experience in Electrical Transmission and Distribution is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with superior verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to hold self and others accountable for safety standards.
  • Strong aptitude for problem-solving and innovation.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve safety practices.
