What you bring:
- NEBOSH general certificate
- Good knowledge of UK H&S legislation
- Understanding of ISO management systems
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Auditor training and experience
- IT Literate e.g. Microsoft Office etc.
- Capable of working well in a team
- A person with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals representing different backgrounds and responsibilities
What you will be doing :
- The team will execute workplace health and hygiene tests by measuring dust and fumes alongside conducting noise checks and testing for Legionella.
- The H&S Manager works alongside external consultants to perform official monitoring/survey activities (including LEV, occupational exposure, noise, fire suppression systems, asbestos, manual handling, vibration etc.) which leads to improvement initiatives.
- The role requires booking necessary beginner and refreshment training provided by external instructors for staff who need to participate in courses such as forklift truck, hoist, confined space, breathing apparatus, loading shovel, first aid etc.
- The system of RockSHE (internal database) requires my super user skills to investigate all SHE incidents
- The postholder assists with site improvement projects and implements CDM processes.
- The staff must verify and show evidence of adherence to laws and Group MMRs standards.
- The department and company H&S key figures need to be recorded and monitored through assistance from this role
- The team must take part in creating risk assessments and provide support to these initiatives.
- Site inspections should be performed routinely to find and correct non-compliant conditions while building a positive health and safety workplace environment.
- The essential task involves providing appropriate H&S training alongside necessary site inductions.
- The candidate helps develop site management systems (particularly ISO 45001) alongside other standards such as 9001, 14001 and 50001 for continual enhancement.
- The position requires performing internal audits of the management system within the organization.
