Your role:
The Gillingham (Dorset) site of our packaged chemical warehouse needs a Health & Safety Co-ordinator to join their team. The Health & Safety Co-ordinator derives their reporting relationship from the EHSS Manager. EHS Co-ordinator needs to complete their assigned duties with competence and accept reasonable duties assigned by the EHSS Manager. As an EHS Officer you will help the EHSS Manager execute site operations compliance with Company HSE standards through staff understanding of all policies and procedures. You will communicate essential Corporate and regulatory requirements (Control of Major Accident Hazards, Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme, hazardous waste and others) to employees to minimize potential harms affecting employees and non-employees, property and local environments.
This position exists as a 12 months Fixed Term maternity cover.
Who you are:
- Previous experience within a similar Health & Safety role.
- Desirable – NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
- Desirable – IOSH Managing Safely training
- Computer literate. A candidate must have strong abilities for communication together with negotiation skills as well as influencing abilities and risk management skills and conflict resolution capabilities.
