Position Overview
We are seeking skilled and experienced professionals for the role of Onsite Firefighting Equipment and Fire Alarm Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and installation of firefighting equipment, fire alarms, and gas detection systems. This critical role ensures compliance with industry standards and client requirements, directly contributing to the safety and protection of lives and property.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection and Testing
- Conduct routine inspections of onsite firefighting equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Test fire alarm systems, including smoke detectors, fire alarms, and control panels, to confirm operational readiness.
- Document inspection findings and test results, recommending improvements and necessary repairs.
Maintenance – Preventive and Corrective
- Perform preventive maintenance on firefighting equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement as per manufacturer guidelines and regulations.
- Identify and troubleshoot malfunctions in fire alarm systems and perform corrective maintenance to restore functionality.
- Install and commission firefighting equipment, fire alarm systems, and gas detection systems in line with project specifications.
- Adhere to NFPA standards, manufacturer instructions, and local fire safety regulations during all tasks.
- Follow established safety protocols and utilize appropriate tools and equipment.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on system performance and corrective measures.
Collaboration and Communication
- Coordinate effectively with supervisors, engineers, foremen, and project teams to meet deadlines and ensure seamless workflow.
- Communicate system operations, maintenance requirements, and recommendations clearly to clients.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or certification in Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in fire alarm and gas detection system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Comprehensive understanding of NFPA standards and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
