An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced HSE Advisor to support safety operations at a sewage treatment plant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This position is ideal for individuals with strong expertise in health, safety, and environmental compliance, especially within water treatment facilities. The role requires leadership in promoting a culture of accountability and safety excellence across all operational levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs tailored for sewage treatment operations.
- Conduct comprehensive safety inspections and hazard assessments, identifying risks and recommending controls.
- Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with actionable safety recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with UAE and international HSE regulations specific to water and wastewater treatment.
- Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to employees and contractors, enhancing site-wide safety awareness.
- Monitor environmental impacts of plant operations and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety measures into workflows and planning.
- Maintain HSE documentation, including audits, inspections, compliance reports, and performance metrics.
- Keep informed about HSE industry trends, technology developments, and updated legislation.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in HSE advisory roles, preferably in water or wastewater treatment.
- Recognized certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of HSE standards and legal frameworks in the UAE.
- Knowledge of sewage treatment technologies and environmental management practices.
- Experience with risk assessment tools, root cause analysis, and environmental reporting.
- Skilled in using HSE software systems and audit tools.
- Excellent communication and training delivery skills across multicultural teams.
- Proven analytical skills with attention to detail and proactive safety leadership.
- Fluency in English is essential; Arabic is a plus.
