Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement all core elements of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management System, including updated policies, procedures, and safety documentation.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety performance across operations.
- Investigate reported hazards, near misses, incidents, and injuries—identify root causes and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
- Ensure full compliance with national and provincial health and safety regulations. Act as a liaison during inspections and audits by external agencies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure consistent alignment with organizational HSE standards and expectations.
- Support cross-functional business units with internal audits and process improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of proven experience in occupational health and safety roles within industrial or operational settings.
- Professional safety designation such as CRSP, CHSC, CHSE, or an equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of incident investigation, hazard identification, JHA (Job Hazard Analysis), SOP development, and training program design.
- Ability to build positive relationships with teams, frontline workers, and leadership stakeholders.
- Outstanding organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Willingness to pursue certification in Occupational Health and Safety if not already held.
- Previous experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or plant operations is considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to travel for audits, site visits, or inspections as required.
