This EHS Technician job in Zoetis, located in Kalamazoo, MI, offers the opportunity to support environmental, health, and safety compliance across a dynamic manufacturing environment. The role focuses on documentation, inspections, incident response, and environmental monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance documentation for safety programs including LOTO, Safe Work, JHA, and Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV)
- Monitor work areas and practices to identify and help control hazardous conditions, materials, or behaviors
- Provide hands-on field support for routine environmental monitoring activities
- Respond to incidents such as injuries, spills, and near misses; secure the area and initiate investigation protocols
- Perform environmental and safety inspections to ensure compliance and identify improvement areas
- Calibrate and maintain EHS monitoring equipment
- Assist in identifying hazards and recommending safety improvements
- Participate actively in audits, Kaizen events, committee meetings, and EHS training sessions
- Inspect and test fire protection and life safety systems on a routine basis
- Support industrial hygiene assessments with field data collection and monitoring
- Prepare EHS data, reports, and documentation for team use and site leadership meetings
- Complete required training to stay compliant and current in assigned safety functions
Technical Skills & Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and online research
- Experience with SAP is considered a plus
- Proven ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Capable of solving routine problems and making informed decisions
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical abilities
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in EHS or Engineering preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
