POSITION SUMMARY

The main responsibility of this role includes monitoring EHS policies and procedures along with their enforcement with trainings and maintaining various compliance activities. The role is responsible to develop training programs then coordinate the delivery of programs and procedures as well as EHS policies. Every function together with every duty and every task exists for honest and ethical professional completion that follows operations procedures. Additional work duties might be given out and operational changes may be done whenever business needs demand it.

The essential duties and responsibilities include these main functions. Other duties may be assigned.

  • The worker must establish a competent person for both confined space access and scaffold activities.
  • The responsible party should perform yard-wide safety inspection/review which demands appropriate documentation practice.
  • New employee/Contractor Safety orientation presentations.
  • Conduct Accident investigations
  • Conduct monthly safety compliance training
  • Provide help to management staff for reaching training and development performance targets.
  • Environmental monitoring including inspections
  • Coordinate Job Safety Analyses
  • The employee executes and enforces all designated organizational policies as well as procedures.
  • The worker will lead yard-wide safety training by developing PowerPoint presentations that the
  • Department uses for training purposes.
  • The candidate needs to create reports for both Department of Labor Review and Workers Compensation.
  • The supervisor should perform and analyze both DOT drug testing procedures and Breath alcohol testing methods.
  • Management staff needs practical training according to the safety observation program requirements.
  • The employee should learn basic first aid skills and receive training in CPR.
  • The employee must manage employee occupational health and safety training files through proper scheduling and design practices while establishing maintaining procedures.
  • Organizations should handle medical records from occupational health services with the required confidentiality standards.
  • The organization will use existing Learning Management Software to deliver standardized training with proper software functionality.
  • Each month OSHA rates will be tracked through reports delivered weekly or monthly.
  • The EHS team needs support for assessing ways to protect employees from dangerous work methods and processes alongside materials with potential hazards.
  • During incidents the employee assists in documenting events while investigating causes to develop preventative measures for future occurrence
  • Must conduct inspections to confirm that fire defense equipment together with safety devices and primary care materials exist in select areas.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of safety and training experience as a minimum qualification where experience in a unionized manufacturing or shipyard operations is strongly desired.
  • The preferred educational credential for this position consists of an Associate or Bachelor degree in environmental, health and safety studies.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 should be known by candidates.

SKILLS:

  • The person needs to establish effective communication with every member of management staff together with employees along with vendors and customers.
  • Pay attention to other people in a receptive manner to locate suitable solutions before you follow up.
