Job Purpose
The EHS Specialist will perform key activities that align with the company’s overall environmental, health, and safety goals by supporting programs, audits, risk reduction strategies, and site performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS procedures to safeguard employees and ensure regulatory compliance
- Create recommendations to prevent incidents and improve safety-conscious behaviors and processes
- Support pollution prevention and waste minimization through monitoring and technical guidance
- Analyze and report EHS metrics for multiple locations across the region
- Conduct job risk assessments, inspections, and compliance audits aligned with federal and state regulations
- Design and maintain EHS training programs; manage training records across sites
- Collaborate with local HR and operational leads to manage worker’s compensation claims
- Handle responsibilities within the broader EHS function, acting as a generalist across initiatives
- Travel approximately 25% to support regional site activities and compliance efforts
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field with at least 1 year of EH&S experience
- OR Associate degree with 3+ years of EH&S experience
- OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of EH&S experience
Preferred Qualifications
- ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification
- Experience with Continuous Improvement processes and safety performance analytics
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant EHS software tools
