Responsibilities

The WHSS must keep all daily, weekly and monthly metric data precise for reporting activities to onsite management teams through corporate reporting systems. The WHSS supports management by helping them uphold all corporate standards and federal and state legislation. Through Job Hazard Analysis the WHSS performs evaluations of tasks together with assessments of new equipment implementation. The WHSS takes responsibility to recommend suitable risk reduction solutions to management that involve ergonomics as part of its duties. The selected candidate needs to work any shift depending on their schedule availability. The job requires the following tasks among others:

The EHS coordinator must keep accurate records of daily, weekly and monthly metrics for reporting to onsite teams and corporate system databases.
The employee needs to help management with their efforts to maintain compliance between corporate program standards and all federal and state legal requirements.
The worker needs to perform Job Hazard Analysis assessments to evaluate job-related risks as well as assess new equipment before introduction.
EHS Director makes recommendations about risk control strategies to management teams which include ergonomic solutions.
The role requires availability to work different shift types which include daytime, nighttime and weekend assignments.

The requirement to hold adult First Aid, CPR and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must be met within 3 weeks after joining.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent
  • The candidate needs 1 year of EHS-related experience or holds a degree in this field or has Amazon work experience in safety roles for at least half a year.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910
  • The applicant demonstrates professional experience with using Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
  • The candidate demonstrates skill in upholding workplace confidentiality for security-sensitive and personal matters

Preferred Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate should possess either a bachelor’s degree or higher from a safety or safety-related educational background.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills
  • Experience with team leadership together with management experience enables the candidate to conduct job hazard and job safety analyses while analyzing data from accidents and new processes and machinery to identify safety concerns
  • The candidate possesses certification in First Aid along with CPR in addition to emergency response expertise.
  • Employees with background in managing workers compensation cases
