This EHS Engineer job at Jabil in Monument, Colorado, focuses on leading safety, health, and environmental compliance across manufacturing operations. The role supports program implementation, inspections, project oversight, training, and federal/state reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Set an example by demonstrating adherence to all EHS requirements and cultivating a culture of safety awareness
- Inspect facilities to identify potential environmental, health, and safety risks
- Schedule and implement corrective training based on inspection results
- Develop and maintain health, safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental programs including training modules
- Audit performance data and identify opportunities for EHS process improvement
- Perform routine facility audits, surveys, and inspections to assess hazards and ensure compliance
- Manage SDS records and ensure safe material handling procedures
- Track hazardous waste, oil, chemical disposal, and other compliance indicators
- Lead process hazard analysis and job safety analysis activities
- Deliver in-house training based on external seminar learnings
- Support workers’ compensation programs and related compliance activities
- Ensure regulatory alignment with OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA, and air emissions standards
- Submit environmental reports such as OSHA 300 logs, stormwater/wastewater, hazardous waste, and emissions data
- Oversee chemical and hazardous waste transport and documentation
- Assist with managing EHS-related budgets and invoice reviews
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety, or a related engineering discipline; or an associate degree with relevant experience
- 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing setting
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and HAZWOPER requirements
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 implementation and certification
- Experience with stormwater, wastewater, and air emissions reporting
- Background in industrial safety, risk management, PPE, incident investigation, and EHS training
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and track compliance metrics
- Experience in corporate or multi-site EHS operations
- Ability to read and interpret technical safety documents, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines
Preferred Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
- Experience with EHSIP and SAP systems preferred
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and reporting skills
- Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and waste minimization strategies
- Strong communication skills for interaction across departments, regulatory agencies, and third-party vendors
