Job Responsibilities
As an EHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for driving safety initiatives and ensuring regulatory compliance within the workplace. You will play a key role in the professional development of Safety Representatives and Human Performance Advocates from various departments, leading safety training, and making continuous improvements to reduce workplace risks. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the coordination and implementation of EHS training for both hourly and salaried employees.
- Conduct internal self-assessments (ASATs) and monitor EHS metrics to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations.
- Assist in incident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting, root cause analysis, and tracking corrective actions.
- Serve as a change agent, driving process improvements and reducing injury risks within the facility.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to identify opportunities for process improvements in the manufacturing environment.
- Utilize data and analysis tools to detect potential issues and generate action plans for key risk areas.
- Conduct plant audits to identify potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Develop and implement risk reduction strategies, focusing on sustainability and continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Promote safety awareness through regular training sessions and informational materials.
- Manage workers’ compensation cases and collaborate with the insurance provider to ensure efficient resolution.
- Complete semi-annual and annual compliance reports for Title V and other required regulations.
- Conduct tank inspections and satellite accumulation site inspections to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Drive improvements in sustainability efforts across the department.
Note: EHS Coordinators primarily work daytime shifts (Monday through Friday), but flexibility is required to work off-shifts and be on-call 24/7 to support safety functions.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 2-4 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage compliance-related documentation.
- Solid compliance experience with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to legally work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
- This position may require access to controlled technologies and compliance with Export Administration Regulations (EAR) or International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational/Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or Safety Science.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management.
- Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing setting.
- Proven track record in program development and implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of incident investigation, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Expertise in understanding and applying regulatory requirements for workplace safety and environmental standards.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement and driving positive change.
