Jones Engineering is looking for a qualified EHS Advisor to support the safety and compliance efforts for a key project in Gävle, Sweden. As a core member of the on-site delivery team, you will ensure health and safety standards are implemented effectively across all phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general support to the Health and Safety Manager across project activities.
  • Monitor site operations to ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and manage the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and CMS framework.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings to the project EHS Manager.
  • Identify training needs and report them to the project EHS Manager for action.
  • Deliver safety inductions and facilitate weekly Toolbox Talks for all staff.
  • Organize and lead safety meetings involving contractors and project leads.
  • Review subcontractor method statements and risk assessments, providing guidance when necessary.
  • Support the investigation and reporting of incidents or accidents on-site.
  • Submit accurate and timely weekly reports on safety metrics and observations.
  • Carry out daily safety walks, reporting immediate concerns to site supervisors.
  • Assist teams in developing Safe Plans of Action for ongoing and upcoming site activities.

Skills & Requirements

  • Recognized third-level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) is required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar safety advisor role is essential.
  • Construction industry background is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills for fast-paced construction environments.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and team collaboration abilities.
