A new opportunity is available for an experienced QHSE Coordinator to join CBRE, a leading name in real estate and facilities management, based in Oxford. This role plays a vital part in supporting health, safety, environment, and quality (QHSE) functions across high-profile, customer-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Inspections, Reporting & System Administration

  • Administer and manage safety platforms such as RiskWise, Harbour, and eLogbooks.
  • Generate health, safety, and compliance reports as requested.
  • Conduct Occupier Demise Inspections (ODIs) on brand outlets and follow up on non-conformities within set timeframes.
  • Oversee the fat, oil, and grease (FOG) inspection program for food and beverage outlets.
  • Maintain detailed records of compliance issues and escalate appropriately to ensure resolution.
  • Complete routine safety observations and inspections across the site.
  • Ensure timely and accurate logging of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions in accordance with company protocols.
  • Analyze incident data and present trends in team discussions to promote ongoing improvement.

Contractor Management

  • Operate the RiskWise contractor management system, including evaluating permit requests and documentation.
  • Improve processes related to managing third-party contractors on-site.
  • Ensure full compliance of contractors with permit requirements through routine checks and supervision.
  • Deliver contractor inductions and manage records of ongoing training.
  • Attend pre-start contractor meetings and monitor implementation of safety expectations.
  • Perform spot checks on contractor activities to confirm alignment with required safety standards.

Compliance & Training Alignment

  • Act as the site’s HSE specialist contact, providing expertise aligned with legal and organizational standards.
  • Implement and support the Strategic HSE Plan.
  • Promote best practices and innovation across all QHSE areas.
  • Monitor HSE compliance and submit regular status reports.
  • Provide practical health and safety guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Support audits of the QHSE Management System and ensure full adherence to policies and strategic frameworks.
  • Drive forward the QHSE training program to support safe and effective project delivery.
  • Track functional performance metrics and use data insights to coach teams and drive safety improvements.
  • Escalate risk concerns to the Engineering Health and Safety Manager when required.
  • Contribute to the development and review of safety procedures, risk assessments, and work systems.

Support to Client’s Health & Safety Team

  • Collaborate on site-wide H&S management and compliance with CBRE and client protocols.
  • Conduct audits and enforce adherence to safe systems of work.
  • Support legal compliance with UK health and safety regulations.
  • Identify training needs related to health and safety and facilitate access to required courses.
  • Ensure staff are equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Recognized qualifications in Health & Safety and Environmental Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in auditing and compliance monitoring.
  • Strong background in engineering services within active, customer-centric environments.
  • Working towards Graduate Membership of IOSH.
  • Skilled in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in delivering HSE training sessions and workshops.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications in environmental auditing or safety management systems.
  • Technical qualifications related to engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical or facilities management).
  • Full IOSH Membership (or actively pursuing).
