SunEnergy1 is hiring for a Safety Coordinator position at its Gaston, USA location. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess workplace conditions to ensure full compliance with OSHA standards and company-specific safety regulations.
  • Provide consistent project safety updates to management under the direction of the Safety Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety metrics across active projects.
  • Support Foremen in creating Job Hazard Analyses and developing a project-wide safety strategy.
  • Perform daily site safety walks to evaluate program effectiveness and identify compliance gaps.
  • Offer guidance and corrective feedback to workers demonstrating unsafe behavior, while recognizing and encouraging positive safety actions.
  • Deliver safety training sessions and facilitate onboarding for new employees.
  • Assist with incident investigations and reporting processes.
  • Offer regular feedback to project teams, highlighting both areas for improvement and safety achievements.
  • Help develop and implement corrective action plans tailored to project-specific safety challenges.
  • Collaborate with general contractors and subcontractor safety staff to align injury prevention efforts on-site.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety codes relevant to solar and general construction operations.
  • Ability to assess and manage environmental health and safety risks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of EHS policy, management systems, and the importance of regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems in power generation environments.
  • Capable of working independently or collaboratively with high attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for extended durations.
  • Clear and tactful communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact across various organizational levels and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong time management and organizational planning abilities.
  • Committed to confidentiality and professional discretion.
  • Eligible to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Proficient with office software tools including Excel, Word, database systems, and presentation tools.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Degree in safety or a related discipline preferred, with at least 2 years of construction safety experience; OR
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety without a related degree.
  • Previous involvement in renewable energy projects (solar or wind) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to take direction effectively and support overall project safety goals.
  • Certified OSHA 500 Trainer (required).
  • OSHA 30 Certification holder.
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED response.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
