The EHS Coordinator will play a key role in maintaining compliance, preventing workplace incidents, and fostering a safety-first culture in line with federal, state, and local regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership and guidance across all environmental, health, and safety functions.
- Drive continuous improvement of the EHS Management System through strategic initiatives.
- Mitigate risks by identifying hazards and implementing corrective measures to prevent incidents or injuries.
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, EPA, IATA, DOT, and all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
- Monitor and manage all EH&S-related costs, supplies, and inventory.
- Maintain operational control of air emissions units, USTs, hazardous waste areas, and water outfalls.
- Oversee the lifecycle of hazardous materials, including inventory, MSDS management, and chemical approval processes.
Daily Operational Duties
- Track and update the EHS Compliance Matrix and Task Calendar.
- Investigate and resolve any workplace incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns.
- Analyze departmental KPMs and identify areas of concern or improvement.
- Manage inventory of EHS supplies and make data-driven purchasing decisions.
- Maintain all records related to permits, reports, licenses, training, and registrations.
- Collaborate with production teams during process changes or implementations.
- Act as a liaison with external regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.
- Deliver and monitor safety training programs and maintain up-to-date written safety plans.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting with exposure to EHS responsibilities.
Core Competencies
- Proficiency in MS Office and EHS management software platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Capable of gathering and interpreting data from multiple sources to inform compliance strategies.
- Skilled in inventory and supply chain management related to EHS supplies.
- Demonstrated project management ability—from initiation and planning to execution and reporting.
- Strong documentation habits and a commitment to thorough recordkeeping.
- Background in driving continuous improvement initiatives and applying them in real-time manufacturing environments.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with Hartzell Propeller product lines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and IATA regulations.
- Certified in First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain.
