An opportunity is available for an HSE Coordinator to take the lead on health, safety, and environmental initiatives at an industrial job site in Lima, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and proactively reducing workplace risks in industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, with timely follow-through on corrective actions.
- Participate in internal and client-led HSE meetings, including joint safety committee discussions.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and client safety representatives.
- Deliver HSE training programs, including DISA onboarding requirements.
- Maintain organized training records and accurate documentation.
- Conduct regular internal audits of HSE programs and site conditions to ensure compliance and ongoing improvement.
- Manage injury response, administer first aid, and coordinate case management.
- Communicate safety programs effectively to promote employee awareness and engagement.
- Administer HSE operations across small to medium-sized projects or multiple job sites as needed.
- Draft and submit safety reports to local, state, and federal authorities.
- Work closely with site teams to support safety goals through field inspections and real-time coaching.
- Participate in Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) assessments and support frontline teams in improving safety behaviors.
- Promote a culture of zero incidents through active safety leadership and accountability.
- Perform additional HSE-related duties as required by project scope.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 2–5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Background in site safety coordination within the industrial, oil & gas, or petrochemical maintenance sectors is highly valued.
- Willingness to be present at the client site in Lima, OH.
- Flexibility to work night shifts or split shifts as needed.
- US citizenship or permanent residency is required due to project specifications.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Capable of working in varying conditions (indoor/outdoor, uneven terrain, hot, dusty, or noisy environments).
- Comfortable with fieldwork and personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, safety boots, and hearing protection.
