As our Health, Safety, Ergonomics & Environmental Coordinator, you’ll lead the charge in shaping and maintaining safety systems that protect our people and the environment. You’ll collaborate with leaders across the plant to ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental legislation, and you’ll have the authority to stop unsafe work or practices when needed.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and enforce health, safety, ergonomic, and environmental programs
- Advise leadership on compliance with legislation and company policies
- Lead internal audits, investigations, and corrective action plans
- Coordinate training sessions for safety and environmental awareness
- Support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OSHA compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate records, certifications, and permits
- Drive sustainability efforts including energy efficiency and GHG reduction
- Monitor contractor compliance on safety and environmental standards
- Mentor the Joint Health, Safety, Ergonomics & Environmental Committee
- Represent the division during government inspections and hearings
- Optimize use of PPE and implement cost-effective safety strategies
- Promote 5S and continuous improvement in the workplace
- Conduct data analysis, reporting, and communication with stakeholders
What You Bring
- Degree or diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Ergonomics, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Solid knowledge of plant operations and regulatory requirements
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills
- Effective communicator with leadership and team collaboration abilities
- Ability to interpret and analyze safety-related data and trends
- Flexibility to work varied hours in a fast-paced setting
- Professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment
