In this role, you’ll be a key player in driving a safer, healthier, and more compliant work environment. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Coordinator to help us achieve our zero-accident vision and build a strong culture of safety across our operations.
Your Mission as an HSE Assistant
- Assist in achieving safety goals by implementing internal HSE programs and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Support the digital transformation of site documentation — including forms, plans, and safety procedures.
- Help standardize and improve cross-functional safety processes and documentation.
- Develop concise, visual safety training materials like posters and signage.
- Evaluate risks linked to new or existing tasks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Review and assess new regulatory requirements, determine applicability, and help develop action plans.
- Present safety and quality initiatives to the site’s Health & Safety Committee (CSE).
- Translate internal HSE policies and programs from English to French when needed.
- Support the creation of engaging e-learning modules and training content.
- Collaborate with HR to validate training matrices for new and existing employees.
- Maintain and update procedural documentation, work instructions, and operational plans.
- Engage in internal site communications to promote safety awareness and knowledge-sharing.
What You Bring to the Team
- Language Skills: Minimum B2 level in English (written and spoken) — you’ll often work with documents in both English and French.
- Digital Proficiency: Comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Knowledge of macros is a bonus.
- Mindset: We’re looking for someone who is proactive, dynamic, and autonomous — a real problem-solver who’s not afraid to take initiative.
