Are you a seasoned Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) professional ready to take the lead on high-profile construction projects in the UAE? GHD is looking for an experienced HSE Lead to join our team in Abu Dhabi, playing a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of safety across our construction operations.
About the Role
As the HSE Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of driving a strong safety culture across our sites. You will work closely with construction contractors, ensuring full compliance with local and international safety standards through regular audits, risk assessments, training, and the development of robust HSE procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in construction-based HSE roles
- NEBOSH Diploma Level 6, or equivalent such as OTHM Level 6
- ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor Certification
- Valid OSHAD Registration
- Sound knowledge of ISO 18001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards
- Proven track record in auditing construction contractors
- Experience developing and implementing HSE procedures and systems
- Strong capability in risk analysis, JSA, and incident investigation
- Excellent training delivery skills, with the ability to present HSE information clearly to teams and clients
- Competence in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports
- Middle East experience is essential
- Experience in environmental audits is a strong advantage
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and improve HSE systems on large construction projects
- Conduct audits, lead investigations, and prepare comprehensive HSE reports
- Deliver training sessions and technical presentations on HSE best practices
- Monitor safety compliance in real-time and recommend proactive solutions
