About the Position

As a EHS Engineer, you will have the chance to work with highly qualified teams who are devoted to maintaining strong safety standards and will assist you to expand your expertise. You will assist with environmental and occupational safety compliance and strive for maximal efficiency in workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Management: Work as a subject matter expert in ergonomics, hearing conservation, machine guarding, process safety management (PSM), emergency response, accident prevention, incident monitoring, lockout/tagout (LOTO) systems, and fall guarding.

Environmental & Safety Compliance: Development of techniques aimed at achieving compliance with regulations, standards, and organizational policies in ergonomics, confined space entry, and head protection industry-recognized safe practice.

Safety Program Leadership: Manage the site during external regulatory visits and internal site audits per 3M and OSHA standards.

Documentation & Training: Develop and maintain plant EHS training programs and assist in preparing compliance documents.

Cultural Excellence in EHS: Building a zero-accident culture by identifying actual accidents and near misses, and potential unsafe conditions to facilitate improving safety performance.

Site Process Audits: Audit site field processes for compliance with the OSH Act in ergonomics, confined space entry, lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and incorporate guard verification system.

Risk Reduction & Process Safety: Support the implementation of designs and installations of new equipment, Product Introduction (EPI) processes, incoming good approvals, and change management.

Emergency Response Coordination: Aid in training and coordinating the Site Emergency Response Team to optimize their readiness.

Project Leadership: Direct and assist in EHS improvement activities while integrating the company’s policies and safety protocols.

Incident Investigation & Risk Mitigation: Perform root cause analysis for employee injuries and accidents as well as high-risk operations to determine and implement corrective measures.

Regulatory Guidance & Safety Committees: Assist or direct EHS guidelines and provide other necessary technical aid, take charge, or participate in safety committees.

Required Qualifications

In order to accomplish the tasks, one needs to possess the bare minimum set of skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree from a recognized institution in Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Science, or a relative discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in the EHS field in a private, public, governmental, or military institutional setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years working in the EHS sector of a manufacturing/production company.
  • Technical Expertise: Practical knowledge in ergonomics, noise reduction, confined space safety, and machine guarding evaluation.
  • Certifications: Desirable Certification includes Interim Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Certified Safety Professional or any alternate credential of equal standing.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good communicator, able to lead and work with ease alongside plant managers and production staff.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities accompanied by a strong emphasis on compliance and minimizing exposure to risk.

Other Information

  • Travel: Some limited domestic travel (up to 5%) might be required.
  • Relocation Expenses: May be granted.
  • Employment Eligibility: Legal work authorization in the United States is a requirement (such as no sponsorship, H1B).
