Key Responsibilities:
- Safety First: Prioritize safety in all daily tasks for yourself and others.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to OSHA and DOT Federal Highway Administration standards across a multi-state region.
- Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage health and safety programs, including industrial hygiene monitoring, hazard assessments, and safety training.
- Incident Investigation: Lead or assist in investigating employee injuries, property damage, and near-miss incidents.
- Safety Leadership: Promote a strong safety culture, guide local safety committees, and lead the General Safety Committee when requested.
- Program Implementation: Execute safety programs such as respiratory protection, hearing conservation, lockout/tagout, and confined spaces while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Additional Tasks: Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Salary Ranges:
Safety Specialist I: $62,130–$77,600
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent industrial safety experience.
Safety Specialist II: $71,460–$89,330
- Bachelor’s degree (as above) OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of industrial safety experience.
Safety Specialist III: $82,150–$102,690
- Bachelor’s degree (as above) OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of industrial safety experience.
Other Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorships provided).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel (25%–40% overnight).
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Maintain First Aid/CPR instructor certification (National Safety Council or equivalent).
- Protect company networks, devices, and data against cyber threats.
Preferred Qualifications:
Safety Specialist II:
- OSHA 10/30 Instructor certification (construction/general industry).
- ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) designation.
Safety Specialist III:
- Additional qualifications as above.
- Registered Professional Engineer or Certified Industrial Hygienist designation.
